Expedited Hiring

Lateral applicants receive priority processing.

Your application will be moved ahead of non-certified candidates, and you will be offered additional testing dates that are not available to regular applicants.

Ride-alongs

While typically reserved for candidates who have already applied, we make exceptions for current law enforcement officers.

Simply contact a UHP field office, mention your LEO experience, and they will work to accommodate your schedule.

4-Week In-House Academy

Upon the successful transfer of your certification, you will not be required to attend the full academy.

UHP will provide a short 4-week in-house academy at our Murray Field office covering operations and policies.

Note: This is not "live-in" training. Troopers are issued patrol vehicles to commute to and from daily trainings.
