Out-of-state lateral transfers will need to contact POST (Police Officer Standards and Training) to take the LEO Waiver Test.
Matching Years
The Utah Highway Patrol will match years of service one for one up to 12 years.
Annual Salary
Trooper pay range is from $33.00-$43.00, depending upon experience.
UHP will match previous sworn law enforcement experience, one year for each year of service, excluding corrections and SFO experience.
Currently, many overtime opportunities also allow for supplemental income, paid at 1.5 times the trooper’s hourly rate.
